Unigrains supports Richel Group, a leading French agricultural greenhouse and storage specialist, in a new phase of development
Eygalières & Paris, July 27th, 2026 – Unigrains, the leading investor-partner for agri-food companies, supports Richel Group through a subordinated debt investment. This transaction forms part of a broader refinancing arranged by the French leader in agricultural greenhouses and storage solutions.
Founded in 1964 and wholly owned by the Richel family, the Group designs, manufactures and installs infrastructure dedicated to more productive and sustainable agriculture. It serves a diversified client base – including fruit and vegetal growers, horticulturalists, nurseries and seed companies – through a recognized offering encompassing plastic greenhouses, high-tech greenhouses and storage facilities. Led by the third generation of the founding family, Richel Group employs nearly 340 people and has sales of roughly €200 million, a significant part of which is generated internationally.
Unigrains’ support, combined with the overall refinancing, will enable the Group to optimize its financial structure and accelerate its growth trajectory in a market driven by long-term trends such as food sovereignty, climate change adaptation and the modernization of agricultural production systems.
Benjamin Richel, President of Richel Group, stated: “With Unigrains, we have found a partner that understands both the specific characteristics of our business and the values that have guided Richel’s development for three generations. Beyond its financial support, Unigrains’ expertise across agri-food value chains and its long-term vision for French agriculture are real assets as we embark on this new stage of growth. The successful completion of this transaction also reflects the confidence shown by leading financial and banking partners in the strength of our business model.”
Florian Jacques, Investment Director with Unigrains, stated: “Through this transaction, Unigrains is supporting a French family-owned group with an international footprint that has successfully adapted to changes in its market for more than 60 years. The quality of its management team, the strength of its industrial model and its positioning at the heart of food sovereignty and agricultural transition challenges are fully aligned with Unigrains’ investment strategy. We are delighted to bring our sector expertise and network to support Richel Group’s ambitions.”
